SP 23 Facing the LegionSpectre walked up to the podium. He stared at the crowd, more nervous than he cared to admit. It was the first time he'd been to the city in what seemed like ages. And the people still did not trust him.

But there were more important things than his fear. Jani-Ca's crew had been busy since the Legion invaded three weeks ago. She had been helping care for those who could not fight, and was famous for her ability to charm the people, to pull even the most despairing back into hopefulness.

And now...

Now, it was only appropriate that her husband should support her on one of the most important days of her life.

He opened his mouth to address

SP 21 Only More QuestionsThe chameleon carefully did not look at them.

"He'd already told us about the flowers," the Constable told Jani-Ca. "And how they must have infected Guardian Spectre."

Deo nodded. "He wasn't insane," he said, "not then. But this infection has gotten into his mind. That's what we found in his brainwaves. And every time he uses his power, every time he so much as touches it, it eats at him just a little more." He sighed, and glanced towards the bedroom. "And he knows it, too."

"Every—?" Jani-Ca stared at him. "He depends on that power to survive. He can't just...not use it." Her eyes widened. "Then he...he is...going mad?"

Deo nodded.

SP 18 DiagnosisThe Constable sighed. "I am not looking forward to this conversation."

"None of us are," Deo replied. "It's far too soon to question her. But if there's even a chance she remembers—"

They had delivered the news yesterday. Jani-Ca, true to her nature, refused to let herself grieve for what could never be, until she was reassured about her friends and family.

But they could not give her that reassurance, not until they could understand what had happened.

The Constable nodded. He knocked on the door. "Lady Jani-Ca? Deo Volente and I would like to speak to you."

"Come in," she replied.

SP 16 PreparationsThe crew continued to grow, to take care of those who had no one to take care of them, to help the Constable and the EST recover stolen artifacts and deal with some of the worst offenders.

And the city loved them.

But as happens with all good leaders, all good causes, there were some that were opposed to the crew. Some that found it distasteful that mere street rats had such increasing power. Echidnas who looked down on the crew for accepting dingoes into their ranks. Gangs who found their territories shrinking.

And Tobor looked upon these dissenters, seeking out the perfect guinea pigs, and watching for any opportunity to present itself.

SP 14 Mind GamesSpectre wrapped his arms around Kancho and buried his face in her hair.

She moaned and snuggled closer to him. The park wasn't cold, even this late at night, but there was something extraordinarily wonderful about being in his arms.

He moved his legs to accommodate her, tangling himself further in his robes and kicking his helmet aside in the process.

She laughed. "I be saying, you being able doing anything in survival suit, yes?"

"Yes," Spectre whispered. "I remember."

"You be doubting me."

He chuckled. "Not anymore." He started kissing her neck.

"Though I be..." She gasped as he found a ticklish spot. He smiled, and kissed that spot

The desktop background is from an old save in Skyrim.
My character decided to go for a "swim" with her pet Snowy Sabrecat, Jango.

Technically, my char should be riding Jango like a horse.
But apparently there's something glitchy when entering deep water; Jango acted as if I was still riding him, but my char acted as if I wasn't...in the water, she performed the regular swimming animations, and started walking/running on dry land. While still on top of Jango! (Dismounting and remounting seems to fix the glitch.)
I don't remember if this glitch happens with horses or not, but this image was just too good to pass up.

(Edit: The glitch does not seem to occur with horses; they merely move extremely slowly once I enter deep water.)

I forgot to do something about the compass before taking the screenshot...and I don't want to crop it out.
Maybe I'll re-upload later, if I ever manage a similar screenshot.
Or maybe I'll just leave the compass in to show off how quest-obsessed I am.

(Too...many...markers....)

Anyway, all the other stuff is the Skyrim Rainmeter skin, created by ~Axerron.

I'm busy trying to figure out the coding so I can add more apps to that menu. Ideas?

Somewhat off-topic, but since Skyrim is distracting me from my other writing, I do have a character background I'm working on.
I haven't made up my mind whether I'll continue it once the game's storyline officially starts, but if I do continue it, I expect to include the character's experiences with mods like Jango.

I used a mod.

If you're using Steam (and presumably the PC version of the game), do a search for Jango and download the mod.
If you're not running the game through Steam, you'll have to do some Googling, or just try the link in the description. If you're not using the PC version of the game...I have no idea if the mods work.

I've also got another Sabrecat (just named Sabrecat

) and a black wolf named Fenrir...who, incidentally, works like a Follower, meaning I can make him carry my stuff.
And I'm playing around with some of the "familiar" mods.

Yup. You've got to search the mod sites (or the Steam workshop) and see what you're interested in downloading.

The Steam Workshop has almost 1900 mods listed, split up into 26 categories.
And these are just the fan-created ones.
I can hardly wait to see what new add-ons Bethesda has in store.

(Also, I have two little dragons that follow me when I'm outside. How did I forget to mention them?)

You've got to watch what you install, though. Some aren't compatible with each other (one of the reasons I'm only "playing with" a familiar mod is because it seems to interfere with Fenrir).
And others...well, let's just say I'd better practice my magic if I want to fight something, because once those animals show up, the enemy is dead.

Which is kind of a problem when I need to level up skills, or when I'm trying to keep someone alive for quest purposes, or when I'm trying to level up skills....

Fenrir can't be killed (he's marked as essential).
The two Sabres have regenerative troll-blood (though Jango did get himself killed once by triggering a lethal trap--thank goodness I could just turn the mod off and on again, then made sure to ride him past that pressure plate instead of letting him follow me).
And I've yet to fight anything that can even reach the two dragons; I expect I won't know if they can be hurt until I face another dragon.
